簡（格列塔?斯卡奇暫無內(nèi)容Greta暫無內(nèi)容Scacchi暫無內(nèi)容飾）是英國影壇新人，受邀參演小制作電影，十分高興，父親陪她來到了羅馬。拍戲期間，身為娛記的父親希望采訪男主角艾里奧森（彼德?考約特暫無內(nèi)容Peter暫無內(nèi)容Coyote暫無內(nèi)容飾），卻遭到拒絕，后者的傲慢激怒了簡，她以罷演與之抗衡。此舉讓艾里奧森大為震驚，他主動(dòng)跟簡道歉，還破例接受了采訪。這讓他贏得簡的芳心，但簡后來發(fā)現(xiàn)艾里奧森竟是有婦之夫，便傷心地離開了羅馬，回到了男友身邊。而艾里奧森也跟妻子蘇珊（杰米?李?柯蒂斯暫無內(nèi)容Jamie暫無內(nèi)容Lee暫無內(nèi)容Curtis暫無內(nèi)容飾）吵了架，來到了巴黎。兩人再次相遇，激情依舊，完全不理會(huì)周遭的世界。蘇珊曾試圖挽救婚姻，但艾里奧森模棱兩可的態(tài)度，讓她的努力付諸東流。簡耐心地記錄著兩人的緣分，但此時(shí)卻傳來了母親病危的消息……
