保羅（喬許盧卡斯 飾）帶著家人到墨西哥旅遊，並參觀(guān)他的公司所擁有的鑽油平臺(tái)，當(dāng)他們來(lái)到平臺(tái)上時(shí)，發(fā)現(xiàn)裡面一片混亂。倖存的工作人員告訴保羅，平臺(tái)遭到墨西哥民間傳說(shuō)的怪物「黑魔鯊」攻擊，那是頭早已滅絕的巨型鯊魚(yú)「巨齒鯊」。面對(duì)這頭人類(lèi)懷抱強(qiáng)烈恨意的海底巨獸，保羅和家人該如何逃出生天……。
