Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　和義盛坐館火水（方中信 飾）在篩選馬仔后備軍時，被一個開餐館的廚師火腩（陳小春 飾）所吸引，后者做的叫花雞味道鮮美，令他難忘。從此，他對火腩特別照顧，委以重任。找到了保護傘的火腩可以繼承祖業(yè)，跟妻子（葉璇 飾）夫唱婦隨經(jīng)營義盛小館，并盤算讓兒女進入名校就讀。正在此時，金融危機來臨，方中信遇到困難，堂主之位不保，此時他希望能夠讓火腩做接班人，穩(wěn)定軍心。然而，和義盛開山祖師后人十三妹（余安安 飾）卻力薦剛出獄的兒子燕子文（鄭伊健 飾）出任堂主之位。于是，兩個本不想做堂主的后起之秀被架上了PK臺。火腩只想安心經(jīng)營自己的飯店，而燕子文則希望進入大學(xué)進修，無心戀戰(zhàn)的兩人將面臨一場怎樣的對決呢？
