 故事發(fā)生在美國西部大開發(fā)時期，燕西（理查德·迪克斯 Richard Dix 飾）帶著妻子莎布拉（艾琳·鄧恩 Irene Dunne 飾）千里昭昭來到了廣袤而又荒蕪的俄克納馬拉，心里懷揣著遠大的理想，希望能夠在這里做出一番建樹。俄克納馬拉的生活環(huán)境十分艱苦和險峻，然而，夫妻兩人同心協(xié)力，慢慢改善和建立著他們的家園。在日子漸漸穩(wěn)定的過程中，在當?shù)厣畹哪翀鲋鱾兏械剿麄兊睦媸艿搅饲址?，他們常常會找燕西的麻煩，卻又被燕西用智慧巧妙的化解。燕西十分同情在當?shù)厣畹挠〉诎餐林c此同時，嫉惡如仇的燕西亦對壓迫和剝削原住民的資本家們充滿了仇恨，隨著時間的推移，雙方的矛盾漸漸尖銳起來。

　　Golf Club經(jīng)理潘致文(劉青云飾)與老婆張美瑛(蔣怡飾)結婚將近七年，生活平淡、枯燥，雖然他渴望著過過“放蕩的新生活”，但是天性膽小，只敢說不敢做，基本上是一個善良的小男人?！　∵@一次美瑛要去外地旅行，潘致文覺得這是個大好機會，于是決定趁這個“婚姻大假”找尋一些刺激。撫慰自己強壓六年多的欲海。　　夜晚在PUB中，致文就邂逅了冶艷少女趙靜(應采兒飾)，令到他心癢難忍。正當致文準備向阿靜展開攻勢的時候，卻在相處中了解到她原來身世相當凄慘，放蕩的行為只是因為孤寂的逆反，致文憐憫之心大增，無奈中不得不放棄了占有的欲念。　　而與此同時，致文又遇上了自己的初戀情人張采冰(劉嘉玲飾)，已經(jīng)成為事業(yè)女性的阿冰目前生活無憂，身邊男伴無數(shù)，并且和一個健身教練WIL(安志杰飾)關系曖昧。但是外表熱情似火的她對于致文依舊念念不忘，致文立刻與冰重燃了愛火，但同時也覺得對妻子心存愧疚。然而此時此刻家庭的危機也漸漸發(fā)生了出人意料的變化……

A brilliant scientist, Dr. Roche, perches high above a stormy sea, inventing a powerful explosive, when he and his assistant are kidnapped by an evil businessman, Artigas. Taken by submarine to Artigas' volcano headquarters, Roche is tricked into developing his experiment for evil intentions. The scientist’s assistant, Simon, struggles all the while to free himself and warn Roche. A magical world of baroque submarines and sailing ships, killer octopus, undersea bicycles dazzles audiences as human actors, puppetry, animation and fanciful scenic design interact to create a cinematic experience that is unique by any standards. Mixing slapstick comedy, action adventure pacing and Mélies style film magic, this little known Czechoslovakian gem transcends the juvenile literature at its source to create cinematic art of the highest order....
