The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory? n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts. On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
歌舞大王齊格飛
威廉·鮑威爾,瑪娜·洛伊,路易絲·賴納,弗蘭克·摩根羅伯特．Z．倫納德導(dǎo)演的這部影片以百老匯最大的歌舞團(tuán)——齊格菲歌舞團(tuán)的創(chuàng)辦人佛羅倫斯．齊格菲的生平為題材，是三十年代好萊塢歌舞片黃金時代的重要代表作之一。當(dāng)時獲得了第九屆奧斯卡最佳影片等三項大獎，女星路易絲．萊娜演出齊格菲的首任妻子，獲最佳女主角獎。齊格菲年輕時是雜耍節(jié)目中表演的藝人。1893年到百老匯發(fā)展，建立了歌舞團(tuán)的知名度，1907年創(chuàng)辦了以美女盛裝演出大型歌舞著稱的齊格菲歌舞團(tuán)，贏得歌舞大王的稱號。齊格菲一角由威廉．鮑威爾擔(dān)綱演出，男女主角都表演得很好。

月球漫步2024
柳承穆,黃智雅,金敏京,宋東煥對于16歲的女孩Jung-hee來說，一年中最困難的一天是她祖母的陣亡將士紀(jì)念日。鄭熙通常很難和酗酒的母親相處，但在這一天，她大喊大叫的祖父的妹妹來了。她每年都會責(zé)罵正熙的母親和叔叔，問她為什么為自殺的祖母做追悼會，而不考慮找到離家出走的祖父。自從他的祖父在正熙出生的那天失蹤后，正熙不知怎么地覺得這是她的錯。所以Jung-hee決定去冒險，在那里她可以解開所有的秘密，結(jié)束她母親的青春期。
啄木鳥和雨
役所廣司,小栗旬,高良健吾,臼田麻美,伊武雅刀,山崎努寧靜的山村進(jìn)入雨季。村中的老伐木工人岸克彥（役所廣司 飾）為人古板，與兒子關(guān)系緊張。他在上工途中給東京來的新人導(dǎo)演田邊幸一（小栗旬 飾）和副導(dǎo)演帶路，由此被拉入一部喪尸電影的外景拍攝。在被迫充當(dāng)臨時演員后，克彥竟對電影產(chǎn)生了微妙的興趣，他開始不請自來的幫助攝制組與村民溝通，開展工作，甚至忽略了本職與妻子的忌日?！ ⊥蝗魂J入的攝制組擾亂了山村的平靜和克彥的生活，也改變了導(dǎo)演幸一自身。幸一生性靦腆缺乏自信，在攝制組中毫無威信。偶然間他發(fā)現(xiàn)自己的喪尸劇本竟為克彥所欣賞，不禁大受鼓舞，兩人在數(shù)次的泡澡時間里進(jìn)行了奇妙的溝通。在克彥的幫助下，幸一慢慢樹立了自信，電影拍攝也步入正軌。然而臨關(guān)機(jī)前的一場瓢潑大雨再次令拍攝陷入危機(jī)，克彥的缺席也令幸一惶恐無措起來…… 影片獲第24屆東京國際電影節(jié)評委會大獎。片中兩位主演役所廣司和小栗旬在現(xiàn)實(shí)中亦均擔(dān)任過導(dǎo)演。
