南京的基督
故事發(fā)生在一九零零年的冬天。日本名作家岡川龍一郎有一次在中國游學時，在南京秦準河柳蔭兩旁赫然發(fā)現(xiàn)了青樓妓寨，如此繁華昌盛的享樂之地，令岡川為之贊嘆不已。在窄巷內(nèi)的一間藕香院里岡川邂逅了一名少女金花，立即被她明媚清秀的氣質(zhì)所吸引，從此注定了岡川與金花在往后的日子里充滿著愛恨糾纏的坎坷歷程。由相識至相愛，短短數(shù)天，岡川與金花的愛火已像熊熊烈火，到了不可收拾的地步。當岡川回日本的時候，金花苦等不見愛人歸來，唯有將精神寄托在基督真神的虛幻中，日夜祈禱，藉此補償自我迷失的痛苦

But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present. Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
