Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 因?yàn)閮鹤右┯睿ㄔ?飾）是智障，所以母親（金惠子 飾）總是擔(dān)心他受傷。一天，泰宇被一輛奔馳車(chē)撞倒，朋友鎮(zhèn)泰（秦久 飾）帶他去高爾夫球場(chǎng)找打球的教授報(bào)仇，結(jié)果被帶回了警局。因?yàn)殒?zhèn)泰踢壞了后視鏡，教授向他們索賠，泰宇被當(dāng)成了擋箭牌。 從警局出來(lái)后，在家吃過(guò)晚飯，泰宇去找鎮(zhèn)泰喝酒，但此時(shí)鎮(zhèn)泰趁著夜色回到球場(chǎng)找出了白天扔進(jìn)湖中的球桿。泰宇酒后尾隨一個(gè)名叫文雅中的女學(xué)生，結(jié)果第二天雅中的尸體就出現(xiàn)在屋頂。泰宇被當(dāng)做唯一的嫌疑人帶回了警局，接著在警察的威脅下畫(huà)押認(rèn)罪。得知兒子入獄，心急如焚的母親委托著名律師為他翻案。但是，泰宇的病影響了他的記憶，母親在替兒申冤的道路上步履蹣跚……
