本作由井上剛擔任導演，與NHK四月播出的劇集《地震之后》共享故事框架，同時新增場景重新剪輯而成。該片基于村上春樹短篇小說集《神的孩子全跳舞》中四則短篇，講述關于喪失與重生的故事。描繪1995年阪神淡路大地震后，四個在不同時代與地域背負孤獨生存之人的命運交織，最終與當下產生聯(lián)結的歷程。
