Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 幸福的三口之家，可愛的小女孩亞美卻經(jīng)常對著空氣說話，并言稱有一個無依無靠的小弟弟跟在身邊。她的舉止令父母非常擔心，而詭異的事件也相繼發(fā)生。亞美的媽媽小萍是一所高中的老師，她的學生阿波與關(guān)兒相戀。青春男女愛火正熾，無所顧忌，終于令關(guān)兒不慎懷孕。為了免去負擔與壓力，關(guān)兒最終找到無照女醫(yī)引產(chǎn)，這也正是他們痛苦的開始。另有一美貌女明星，適值人氣下滑，而她又因不負責任的男友不斷懷孕，人生漸漸陷入困境?！ ≡谶@些所謂時尚男女的附近，寂寞冷清的寺院內(nèi)痛苦悲傷的嬰靈無助哀號。各人欠債各人還，以殺生換取的幸福終究帶著濃濃的血腥……
