本片為導(dǎo)演佐藤壽保在《女虐》之前的試水之作。城南大學(xué)心理學(xué)實(shí)驗(yàn)室的女醫(yī)師正在進(jìn)行一項(xiàng)新型鎮(zhèn)靜劑的-物臨床實(shí)驗(yàn)，田鈿妙子、中島知子、三上莉香等三名學(xué)生充當(dāng)志愿者。女醫(yī)師的丈夫生前是個(gè)極其出色的科學(xué)家，卻因自己的實(shí)驗(yàn)過于挑戰(zhàn)極限而遭到排斥，最終自殺身亡。他們的兒子英治(石川成俊飾)還是一個(gè)高中生，但他顯然繼承了父親的優(yōu)秀基因，獨(dú)立研制出一種可以影響大腦從而減輕痛楚的-物。英治趁母親不備，偷偷將其注入到實(shí)驗(yàn)-劑中，并注射給三名志愿者。在此之后，他偷偷觀察著三個(gè)女孩的日常反應(yīng)，期間更與美麗的莉香發(fā)生感情。然而，英治的-劑產(chǎn)生副作用，妙子和知子先后發(fā)狂，死于非命。備受打擊的英治也接近了崩潰的邊緣

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
